Like its cousin the DKT01A Tele style kit, everything is included except finishing supplies and elbow grease! DKS01A Specifications BODY: Unfinished, unsealed, pre-drilled and pre-routed 3pc Ash with front arm and rear body comfort contours NECK: 22 Fret Maple w/ Rosewood fingerboard, matched to body, with installed pre cut top nut, pre-shaped headstock with pre-drilled tuning machine holes PICKUPS: 3x vintage style single coil CONTROLS: Pre-wired 5-way pickup selector switch, 1x volume and 2x tone controls BRIDGE: Strat type "tremolo" with 3x springs. TUNING MACHINES: 6x0 sealed type with ferrules and mounting screws SCRATCHPLATE: W/B/W 11 hole with mounting screws HARDWARE: Output jack plate, strap buttons, neck plate with screws, string trees, tremolo bar, truss rod wrench. Like all DIY Guitar Shop builder kits, we spec'd the DKL02S without the thick epoxy sealer found on other similar kits to allow the builder the freedom to complete real stains and sunbursts as well as solid or oil rubbed finishes. DKL02S Specifications BODY: Unfinished, unsealed, pre-drilled and pre-routed solid Basswood with spalted Maple top with bound front edge. NECK: 22 Fret Maple w/ bound Rosewood fingerboard, set neck (glue-in), with installed pre cut top nut, pre-shaped headstock with pre-drilled tuning machine holes. PICKUPS: 2x chrome covered humbuckers ELECTRONICS: Unwired 2x A500K Ohm and 2x B500K Ohm pots, 3 way selector switch, 2x tone capacitors, output jack, and black & white hook up wire. Wiring diagram included BRIDGE: Chrome T-O-M style and stop tailpiece with posts and bushings. With photos. A great project for the more advanced builder. The DKL02S LP style kit is intended for the more advanced builder and is the perfect base for further customisation. There is some woodwork required with the DKL02S kit because of the body trimming necessary to fit the glue-in set neck, the measurement and fitting of the bridge and tailpiece, and the mounting of the rear cavity covers. Spalted maple requires a bit more attention during prep and finishing. Many builders choose to finish the guitar using Rustin's Plastic Coating, a favourite of ours, to build up a tough, high-shine finish for the spalted maple. The humbucking pickups, 3-way selector switch, and dual volume and tone controls are unwired to allow for custom configurations and modifications of components or functions. Soldering is required.
